Hello, I am Cassandra Tengelitsch! I recently graduated in May 2018 from Indiana University of South Bend, with a BFA in New Media with a concentration in Graphic Design and minor in Printmaking. As a little girl art has always been my strong suit. I started drawing and painting at an early age, and continued my love for art through out my life. I took a design class in high school, which introduced me to the digital graphic world. Right after high school I attended IUSB starting in the business program. At this time IUSB did not offer a Graphic Design program, which lead me to a primary focus on Marketing and Advertising. Although this did interest me, I had later found out that they were starting a New Media program, so I decided to transfer over to the Fine Arts department to begin my new journey with Graphic Design. During this transition I became a mother, which I admit was difficult balancing full time mom, working part time as a waitress, as well as attending college full time. But I did not let these challenges keep me from following my dream. In the course of five years attending college full time, I was able to do some freelance brand identity projects. My junior year of college, I was able to do an internship for Discover Resale, which wasn't open yet for the public. My job responsibilities included, creating a logo, starting a Facebook page, organizing, picturing and pricing merchandise. Also I was responsible for setting up a store display, similar to a boutique style. After my internship I was able to start my own crafting business in late July 2017, called Cassie's Crafty Artistry. As crafting unique creations has always been a hobby of mine, I decided to make my passion an in-home business. I primarily sell online through Facebook, as well as participate in craft shows and vendor events. One of my favorite aspects of my business is being able to use my graphic design skills in designing custom orders for customers by applying graphics in a unique way.
More About Me
My creativity and desire for Art and Design has always been a driving force of motivation in my life. My artwork stems from my passion for Graphic Design in creating the concentration of an idea or concept into a physical entity. Over the course of studying Graphic Design with a minor in Printmaking I have developed the necessary skills through computer software but also through traditional methods such as drawing to create works of art that are visually pleasing to the consumers. My inspiration for designing comes from my past and present life experiences through daily happenings of every day life. During my course of studies, I have learned that there is a variety of different types of graphic design specialities. The main specialities that I have a passion for are brand identity, packaging design, layout/print design and web design, in which I have examples of each category in my online portfolio. What I love most about designing is the ability to create endless possibilities.
